The world's largest pearl was discovered by a Filipino diver in a giant Tridacna (mollusk) under the Palawan Sea in 1934. The gem weighs 14 pounds and measures 9 1/2 inches long and 5 1/2 inches in diameter.
The Philippines is considered to be the largest producer of coconut oil, and the second largest producer of coconuts.
